On June 20 th and 21 st 2023, an UNESCO team consisting of Jonathan Baker, Jing Fang and Megumi Watanabe, was hosted at the Base Ricerca Pianosa of the CNR (BRP-CNR) during the visit on the Pianosa Island made for evaluating the work carried out during the HYDRO-ISLAND project. During the first day, research activities, main results, and some suggestion for building innovative infrastructures that promote the infiltration water in the soil have been described at the BRP-CNR. Later, the inspection team visited the Geological and Archeological Sciences Meuseum, where they had the chance to view both the Archeological and Geological sections, and the water section which has been set up during the last year in the context of the HYDRO-ISLAND project. Then, the dissemination activities carried out in the context of the project (Bright Night, EGU, Rai News, ecc.) have been illustrated to UNESCO inspection team at the conference room of the museum. During the second day, a field trip in the inner part of the island was performed in order to show to the UNESCO team the instruments for the continuous monitoring of the hydrological cycle on Pianosa island (rain gauge, lysimeter, multiparametric probes, ecc.). Furthermore, educational activities performed at the Secondary and High schools of Marina di Campo and Portoferraio have been showed and discussed. The visit has had positive feedbacks as shoved by the article released on the UNESCO website (https://www.unesco.org/en/articles/tuscan-islands-hydrological-processes-and-water-resource- sustainability-climate-changing)
