LAB FACILITY

The BRP-CNR is currently equipped with a laboratory for Hydrology, Chemistry and Solid Matrices, located on the ground floor. The laboratory consists of four rooms used for specific activities:

  • an entrance area, used for the temporary storage of samples collected during outdoor campaigns, with portable instruments available at the BRP-CNR or temporarily brought by host groups to carry out field activities;

  • a room equipped for the preparation of deionized water and an area for the instrument calibration and sample cataloguing. A refrigeration system is also available for samples that require this type of storage;

  • a chemical laboratory for the preparation and analysis of liquid solutions;

  • a solid matrix laboratory, for the preparation, sieving, conditioning, and whatelse of soil, rock, fossil, biosphere (biological?????) samples.

Part of the setting up of the lab facilities is still under construction or in the planning phase. The planned goal, through new research funds, is to have laboratories fully equipped with scientific instrumentation , with the aim of growing in attractiveness and functionality for national and international research.
